sequel, To Be The Best: REMATCH (2011,
HH Castle-Mac Publishing).
“We’re excited to
continue the story of high school wrestlers and brothers, Ron and Nick Castle,
as they pursue their shared dream of winning the state championship,” says
Hertel, who cited strong support from readers of his first novel, To Be The Best, as a significant
incentive for finishing the sequel.
In addition, readers from other walks of life
have reached out to Hertel to share the first book’s impact on their lives –
parents, coaches, teachers, librarians, and friends and relatives of wrestlers.

To Be The Best, especially around the
character of Sean MacCallister, the likeable Riverside assistant coach who
deals with more than his fair share of life’s challenges, the target audience
for the sequel continues to be the high school wrestler.
