We want your team to raise all of the money that it can.  Please take advantage of these free tools and techniques for helping you sell more books.

Sales Tools:

HH Castle-Mac website - For teams who want to promote through our website, we will post information such as the school's name, large tournaments it will host and/or sell at, a link to its website, and (if desired) the contact information of a point person if the team wants to sell via mail.  Please note on your registration form what information you would like listed on this site.

Downloads - Please download the JPEG of the book's cover and use it for creating posters and / or other sales materials. Also below is a PDF of the book's first seven pages.  During the 2008 - 2009 season, many sellers printed the book cover along with its opening pages to have on hand at tournaments for use as a "teaser" to introduce people to the book.

Free and / or Inexpensive Promotional Tools / Ideas:

  • Advertise in team / alumni newsletters and e-mails
  • Advertise in programs for duals and tournaments you host
  • Announce to fans at duals and tournaments you host
  • Advertise on your team or school website
  • Have coaches and team members post on Facebook
  • Advertise on your state's wrestling website (prices vary by state)

Sales Techniques:

  • Sell where fans congragate (concession stands, program tables, etc.)
  • Make sure that this book is visible (don't hide it behind the counter)
  • Have students / parents who have read the book help sell for you
  • Give fans a "teaser" to promote interest (see "Downloads" above)
  • Let alumni and others know that this is a way to support your team
  • Ask organizers of other tournaments if your boosters may sell at them
  • Promote the book as a "Great Holiday Gift"
  • Offer a discount for fans who pre-order
  • Sell copies to your school and/or local public library
  • Introduce the book to your school's English department for use in class
  • Sell over the internet
  • Partner with your school's Marketing program for creative sales ideas

Below is one example of what percent of people that come in contact with your team would need to purchase books in order for your team to sell a single case:


To sell a single case, your team would need to sell a book to 2% of these wrestlers and fans (25 books divided by 1,250).  This is just two books for every 100 people that know you are selling the book.  If the figures above seem to be in line with your team and the 2% rate seems achievable, you may want to consider using To Be The Best to raise funds for your team.
